Welcome to Best Senior Joint Health. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About This Site

Best Senior Joint Health publishes first-person reviews, comparisons and how-to guides on the everyday products older adults reach for when knees, hands and hips start getting in the way: joint supplements, knee wraps, anti fatigue kitchen mats, electric jar openers and folding canes. Nothing here is medical advice.

Health and Safety

Nothing on this site is medical advice. The author is not a doctor, nurse or physical therapist, and these articles describe one person's everyday experience. Talk with your own doctor before you start any supplement or mobility aid, and tell them about every medication you take.

Glucosamine and chondroitin products can interact with blood thinners such as warfarin, and many glucosamine products are made from shellfish. If you have a shellfish allergy, diabetes, kidney disease, or take a blood thinner, ask your doctor or pharmacist first. Stop taking a supplement and call your doctor if you notice a reaction.

A knee wrap should never cut off circulation. Take it off if you feel numbness, tingling, swelling or a rash, and do not sleep in it. Sudden swelling, redness, heat in a joint, or a knee that gives way needs a doctor, not a brace.

Have a doctor or physical therapist check your cane height and show you how to use it. A cane does not replace a walker if you have been told you need one. Check the tips and locking button regularly, and take extra care on wet floors, curbs and stairs. Keep floor mats flat, with no curled edges that could catch a foot, and if you have had a fall, tell your doctor.
